A reminder to do your due diligence

A quick reminder to always do due diligence when recruiting players or searching for a new club.

Whilst we endeavour to send you players/clubs that might meet your playing needs we want to remind you that it is always best to do your checks.

Here are some of our recommendations when dealing with a club player:

For Clubs

  • When recruiting a player, ask for a link to their stats. Most countries now have platforms up that capture match results including player performances (see my cricket and play cricket).
  • If the player has played overseas before, be sure to ask to speak to players from that particular club. They will be able to give you an indication of how the player fitted in.
  • If the player has not played overseas be sure to ask for references. Current club presidents are always good.

For Players

  • If the club has hosted players before, ask to speak to them. Find out how they fitted in etc.
  • Check to see what overseas players have played in the competition before. Where did they come from and how did they go. It will give you an idea of how the standard is.

If there are any questions regarding the above, then please do not hesitate to send us an email.

Thanks
Glenn, Brad and Isaac
